AI Use & Human Review

Last updated October 21, 2026

How Sortiva uses Aria and AI analysis, the limits of these tools and your choices.

What Aria and AI analysis do

Aria is an AI voice assistant for job-related screening. Sortiva can use application answers, job requirements and consented transcripts to produce structured summaries, comparisons, scores, assessment fields and suggested next steps for employer review. Written availability may help avoid repeated questions. Scheduling tools can organize employee availability into a proposed schedule for employer approval.

You review. You decide.

Employers set job requirements and make hiring decisions. AI outputs describe stated information and can be wrong, incomplete or affected by transcription errors. Employers should review underlying answers and relevant consented records, consider corrections and accommodations, and verify credentials or references where needed. Configured age and required-credential rules can flag an application and prevent automatic screening; these gates also require responsible configuration and review.

Call choices and permission

Applicants can answer the core job questions in writing without accepting an AI call. AI outbound screening requires the current written agreement for an AI voice call that may be recorded, a booked slot, a check of the 8 a.m.–8 p.m. applicant-local window, and spoken recording consent for Sortiva to retain audio/transcripts. A decline or withdrawal blocks further AI calls. The voice provider may process or capture media before spoken consent is answered; the Privacy Policy explains retention limitations.

Inbound-first screening and references

Private invitations let applicants choose a callback or human review. Where inbound calling is enabled, the invitation also provides a call-in number and private request code. The current written agreement includes a backup callback booked at least 24 hours after a new application; its time is shown after submission and can be changed. Applicants who do not reply may receive that permitted callback. Silence is never permission, and older permissions are not silently expanded to cover the new fallback.

Applicants can personally forward private reference invitations. A reference must give their own current written AI-call and recording agreement and request a callback through a valid invitation before an AI reference call is authorized. Calls also check the booked time, reference-local calling window and any withdrawal. Human contact is an alternative. Invitation/call features depend on the required service setup; their description is not confirmation of an active inbound provider connection.

A request code does not verify identity. Phone matches with the applicant or reuse under other reference names prompt employer review and do not automatically reject an applicant. Forwarding the invitation is expected. Reference identity remains unverified.

What these tools do not establish

Sortiva does not assess voice tone, sentiment, confidence or personality, and does not claim to identify impersonation from a voice. A reference identity, credential claim or AI summary is not independently verified by being recorded. An unanswered invitation or incomplete call is not evidence that a person is unqualified. Employers remain responsible for applicable hiring notices, audits, accommodations and lawful use.

Questions or corrections

Ask the employer to correct an application or review a result, or contact Sortiva through support for a product or data concern. The Privacy Policy describes providers, information sharing, retention and privacy requests. The invitation and call must give the relevant disclosures; this page does not replace permission at the point of participation.
